Walailak University Asset Management Center Holds Training for Food Business Operators and Food Handlers to Strengthen Food Sanitation Standards

On February 5, 2025, the Asset Management Center of Walailak University organized a training program for food business operators and food handlers under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jeerakiat Aiboonyopas, Director of the Asset Management Center, who presided over the opening ceremony. The objective of this training was to enhance the quality and standards of food vendors within the university, as well as to raise awareness and understanding of food sanitation principles among entrepreneurs.

The training featured guest speakers and students from the School of Public Health, Walailak University, who provided knowledge on environmental health, related technologies, and policies on reducing plastic bag usage—an important approach to promoting hygiene and environmental conservation within the university.

The Asset Management Center, which is responsible for providing welfare services to students, staff, and surrounding communities, places strong emphasis on service quality and consumer safety. Therefore, this training program was initiated to regulate and raise food sanitation standards in terms of physical environment, service quality, and proper management.

Objectives of the program:

1.To establish standards for food operators in line with food sanitation principles.

2.To regulate physical food sanitation standards.

3.To provide food vendors and restaurant operators with knowledge on quality control in food service and food safety.

This training program marks an important step in promoting food safety and enhancing the quality of life within Walailak University in a sustainable way.
