Director of Center of Property Management at Walailak University Joins Flag Handover Ceremony for the 52nd Thailand University Games

The Director of the Center of Property Management, Associate Professor Dr. Jeerakiat Apibunyopas, along with staff members including Ms. Chutimagorn Cholsakorn, attended the official flag handover ceremony for the 52nd Thailand University Games, “Tumpang Games,” for which Walailak University will serve as the next host.

On January 9, 2026, Professor Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of Walailak University, led a delegation of executives, staff, and students to receive the host flag from Associate Professor Dr. Chusit Pradapphet, Chairman of the Thailand University Sports Committee, and Associate Professor Dr. Weerapon Thongma, President of Maejo University. The ceremony took place during the opening of the 51st Thailand University Games, “Inthanin Games,” at the Chalerm Phrakiat Sports Center, Maejo University, Chiang Mai.

Professor Dr. Sombat stated that Walailak University has been actively preparing for the upcoming event, including competition venues, sports facilities, and supporting infrastructure, all meeting required standards. The university is also ready in terms of personnel, student volunteers, and management systems to accommodate athletes, officials, and participants from institutions nationwide, ensuring convenience, safety, and a memorable experience. The event is expected to promote friendship, unity, and the advancement of sports excellence.

He also invited athletes and participants to experience the beauty of Walailak University, recognized as one of the most beautiful campuses in Thailand, and to visit key attractions such as Sirindhorn Museum, a learning center for Southern Thai art and culture. The site is also home to the ancient “Tumpang” archaeological remains dating back to the 12th–13th Buddhist centuries, which inspired the name of the “Tumpang Games.”

The 52nd Thailand University Games “Tumpang Games” are scheduled to take place from January 21–30, 2027, under the theme “Spirit of Equality, Glory of Excellence.” The competition will feature more than 30 sports, including compulsory sports, international optional sports, general optional sports, demonstration sports, and traditional Thai sports, with participation from over 100 higher education institutions across the country.
